Dearest SunChild turns one today – and I couldn’t be prouder. This year, we have reached more children and families than ever before, shining a light on little ones all over the world.
I started SunChild with the dream of empowering children with the support and knowledge I wish I had growing up. As I wrote each card, I thought to myself “What would baby Char need to hear right now?”.
At SunChild, we live by holistic ideals and recognise that the world is not only full of rainbows and daisies. We understand that children’s emotions are real and that life presents challenges – but with every card, we encourage growth and an awareness of the inherent beauty of life. Even flowers need a little rain to bloom.Each day, I set my intention for SunChild to grace the hands of any child who needs this support and inner guidance – the reminder that they are enough. I wish I had known this as a little girl – though, I wouldn’t change anything about my childhood. With pain comes an incredible opportunity for growth, learning and empathy – with loss came a beautiful gain: the inspiration for SunChild and a commitment to giving goodness in this world. This year has been unique in so many ways. A global pandemic rocked our SunChild community to the core. We wouldn’t be here without you, supporting our dear start-up every step of the way.To say thank you, we are gifting free sunflower seeds for your children with every order placed over our birthday weekend. We encourage you to plant these sunflower seeds with your little ones – teaching them growth takes time and patience, connecting them to the ground beneath their feet and expressing gratitude to Gaia, our great Mother Earth. We hope they get their hands a little dirty planting the seeds and that it brings endless joy watching these beautiful flowers bloom.
